Medicine and English

In world, all most all medical education is done by English, except few contries, including in Japan. Therefore, most medical reports or papers are written by English. It means that medical staff whose English is poor have severe disadvantage to update newset knowledge, because there are time lag when the article is translated in his or her native language. It is critical for the staff, because medical knowledge is making steady progress.

The knowledge is making steady progress. Most of famous medical textbooks become online, and the contexts are rewritten so often. Paper isn't good medium to update early and early.

There is one episode. A doctor advised me to learn English more in student, instead of studying medicine.

In infectious disease field, 80% of information is from U.S. I think there are bias toward it, and basic difference between U.S. and my country. Therefore, I will work at U.S. hospital to know the difference.
